LBSL is a subsidiary of Transport for London (TfL), responsible for regulating the London bus
network (7,500 buses over 700+ London bus routes), including planning bus routes, setting bus
service levels and monitoring service quality. LBSL is also responsible for managing 19,500 bus
stations and stops whilst also engaging with other services that support the overall bus services on
the road. The bus services are generally operated by private operators, which work under contract

least 2020.
